Adriana smiled.
“There is someone that I want you two to find and I want you to kill this vampire discretely. Then I will tell you what this really is about. I will give you some clues. It’s a man and he smells like a dog. Now go”
Diana smiled even wider and grabbed Ruth’s hand.
“Let’s go and hunt, girl!” she said and dragged her out on the floor.
Ruth almost fell but saved herself from it by stepping her right foot in the floor so hard that her heel smashed the fine floor of stone with a bang.
Some of the guests looked wondering at her and she smiled and flushed. She stretched herself up again and went after Diana.
“Soo, are we supposed to smell on every guest in here or what?” she asked. Diana smiled.
“Almost like that, yes. But we don’t need to overstate it. Just walk by and smell the air”
“But what do I do if I find this guy? I can’t just kill him in here, can I?”
Diana stopped and turned around to Ruth. She moistened her lips slowly like she was annoyed or thinking.
“No, you cannot. But you can try to seduce him and make him walk with you outside. I will be waiting out there for you two and I kill him”
She made it sound so easy but Ruth didn’t trust her. She remembered what she had said to lady Moraga about trusting the vampires in this hall.
“No, don’t wait outside. I want to be able to see you. I don’t trust you, you see”, Ruth said. She was so nervous. Sure she had seduced many men before but this time it felt so new, and dangerous.
“But, what if you find him first?”
Diana sighed.
“We will be walking together and if I find him before you do, I tell you and then I continue to walk to the French windows on the other side of the hall and give you a sign to where you shall lead him. And if you find him, grab my hand and tell me, and I will continue walking and…”
“And go to the French windows and give me a sign”, Ruth finished her sentence and she noticed that Diana didn’t like it very much.
“Yes” Diana answered shortly. They continued walking through the crowd when Ruth sensed an odd smell. She grabbed Diana’s hand.
“Can you feel it?” she said.
Diana turned her head to where the smell came from.
“Dog. We found him”
Ruth looked around and saw the man that smelled like a dog. He didn’t smell much but it was enough.
The man was tall and white, and he had a dark brown beard and dark brown short hair.
He was wearing a grey shirt and a pair of black trousers.
“Oh my god! What I am going to do?” Ruth said fast but then she noticed that Diana was gone. She banned her quietly and decided to walk up to this man. She fixed her hair and the dress and moistened her lips a little, and then she went up to him.
“Hello! Hi, I’m Ruth. How are you doing?” she said with big smile.
The man looked at her and smiled back. He wasn’t so very handsome which made it much easier. If he had been handsome maybe Ruth didn’t wanted to kill him.
Now she didn’t bother.
“Hello, Ruth. And what may I ask can a girl like you want me?” he said and smiled a little. When he said Ruth felt an odd vibration in the air. It was like he was growling.
Ruth decided that she didn’t like this man. Harder to seduce but easier to kill.
But she smiled and put her hands together behind her back so her breast pushed up even more, and the man saw it.
“Well, I was wondering if you wanted to take a walk with me because I saw you immediately when I arrived and I got so curious about you. So, what do you say?”
